Value Creations in Business Services

Event description

Sapling is proud to partner with ACG Toronto to present the third webinar in our Value Creation Series “Value Creation in Business Services” taking place Wednesday, September 29th at 8:30am.

Business services is a wide-spanning industry that ranges from Professional Services (accounting, legal, IT, marketing, call centres, investment advisory, etc.) through to Trades and Related Services (e.g., HVAC, wastewater maintenance, sprinkler systems, window cleaning, elevator repair, etc.). Given the low barriers to entry to most of these sectors, there are many small- and mid-sized firms that compete effectively, albeit sub-optimally. Private equity capital is being increasingly deployed into this space, often with rollup strategies not dissimilar to those seen in healthcare. Given that economies of scale cannot always be taken for granted (e.g. larger firms often become less efficient), value creation is a delicate task, but one that is certainly achievable (e.g., Big Four accounting firms). In this seminar, we will discuss key areas where private equity firms, and their best-in-class management teams, add value, including in terms of marketing, operations, HR, IT, legal, insurance and finance.

Speakers:

Sapling’s own Rob Hong, CFA MFin introduced the virtual webinar. Stay tuned for more information on the Value Creation series.
